Samuel had his one week old appointment this afternoon, although he's 10 days old today. Double digits already, I can't believe it! It's going WAY TOO FAST and it's making me sad. The time is just flying by.
He's doing fabulously though. He was 6lb 6oz when we left the hospital and is already up to 7lbs 5oz. So he's gained almost a full pound in one week! The dr was even surprised. She said, "And you're only nursing him? Breastmilk ONLY??". I was thinking he had gained well since he now has a very nice double chin going on. He also grew 1/4 of an inch. Everything else looked great so we don't have to go back until 2 months now.
Things are going well. He really is the perfect baby. He only cries if a diaper change is taking too long for his liking or if I don't get him his food quick enough, but even then, he gives us several chances to feed him before he lets us know he's unhappy. He's still sleeping great and has a couple of long alert times during the day. We're all enjoying him so much. There's nothing like having a newborn in the house again. It's amazing how you can just spend hours gazing at him and being in awe of how wonderful, beautiful, perfect he is.

He's adorable! Glad he's doing so well. Sounds like the breastmilk agrees with him. :op Tess wasn't even up to her birthweight at 2 weeks!
