Thursday we took the kids to a great beach not far from our house. They had a blast! It was the perfect day for it, not too hot so I didn't get miserable sitting out there, couldn't have been better.
After a picnic lunch, the kids went in the water and tried to catch some little sunnies with their net. Russ and Katie both ended up catching some.
Then Russ and I, with a little help from Isaac on digging and filling the moat, made a sand castle.

Elijah wasn't much into playing in the sand. He was having way too much fun just hanging out in the water. It's an awesome place where you can go out hundreds of feet and still be touching so he could have spent all day just walking out as far as he could go, turning around and coming back, then doing it all again. Thankfully Katie had the patience to sit and do it over and over and over (and over).

The boys and Russ also buried Katie in the sand and made a mermaid out of her. Although, Isaac insists she looked more like an anchor at the end. : )

It was a great time and the kids can't wait to go back!
