Happy Birthday Isaac!

I'm late on posting this (surprise, surprise) but my "baby" turned 6 on Wednesday. We had a great day-all about him!

He woke up to the house being decorated (per his instructions-he wanted "surprise" decorating done) so as he went out of his room, down the stairs, and to the kitchen there were surprises at every turn.
Then he had a breakfast of cinammon rolls. But while they were cooking, he wanted to go out bright and early and color with some new chalk we had just gotten....
I was sleeping through all of this early morning fun but once I got up, we all got dressed and after he played the Wii for a bit, we headed outside again for more chalk drawing. We were blessed with a GORGEOUS day, the nicest of the week. It was sunny and in the 70's-a beautiful spring day.
Isaac with our super long monster. I made the 8 legs, he made the rest. This is him being scary! While we were drawing, Aunt Sandy and Great Grandma Millie showed up to go out to lunch with us. Isaac had chosen Applebees for his special birthday lunch but before we left, Grandma got in on the coloring fun drawing her famous pig.
On the way to the restaurant, Isaac officially turned 6 at 12:14pm so I took his annual "official moment of birth" picture... (notice the lipstick kiss on the cheek from Grandma)

At Applebees, Isaac had fun playing tic tac toe with Aunt Sandy and even got to have his very first caffeine pop and got a cherry Pepsi-what a treat! He made one of his punny jokes to the waitress when she was clearing our table. She had her arms full of plates and didn't have room to grab the ketchup so he said, "Hey, you need to KETCHUP with your job!". Russ was so proud-a boy after his own sense of corny humor. : )The staff sung him Happy Birthday and brought a sundae and toy for him! Aunt Sandy and Grandma had given him some money for his gift so afterwards, we headed to Target where he bought 2 Lego Star Wars kits which he spent the rest of the afternoon playing with.

Dinner was his choice-pancakes with whipped cream and sprinkles! Daddy even made him a pancake in the shape of a 6. And we ate on Transformers plates.

After dinner it was finally time for presents!! Elijah was having a very difficult time understanding the the presents were for Isaac and not him but Isaac was a great sport and let Eli help him open a few.He got a Transformers set from Katie and from Mom and Dad got walkie-talkies, a Nerf dart gun set (Daddy wants one for his birthday!), a Batman punching bag, Hyper Dash game, Prince Caspian book, Night Vision Spy Binoculars, Lego Star Wars t-shirt, Spiderman umbrella, and an electric Spiderman toothbrush.

After that, he just had to play with each and every present so Daddy, Elijah and him headed downstairs for some fun. After each gift was tried out, we had cupcakes for dessert.

I think he had a good day. He said several times, "This is the best birthday I've ever had!....Well, the best one I can remember!".

We had a wonderful day with Isaac, celebrating the gift of HIM! He's such a joy and a blessing in our lives with his big smile, great laugh, goofy sense of humor and kind, loving personality. He is growing into such a smart, amazing boy.
